· Ann Marie will greet you at the driveway entrance to Welcome HOME in Newburg, WI at 4260 W Hawthorne Drive (Hwy Y) ~ Ozaukee County
· Spacious (32 x 28 ft) covered parking attached to the B&B entrance keeps guests and luggage dry while loading and unloading
· Enter through the step-free 36-inch wide door
· Skirt on the Kohler Assure barrier-free kitchen sink protects seated users from coming in contact with drain pipes
· Inviting two-sided gas fireplace, operated by a rocker switch on the wall, gently heats the 16 x 27 Family Room, made possible by a generous donation from the Dave & Aleen Nusbaum Family
· Window curtains are operated by either a wall-mounted Makita push button control pad or a remote control
· Marmoleum linoleum is a sturdy 100% natural (green) flooring material
· The 20 ft x 12 ft Penney Room is named in honor of a $57,000 donation from the JCPenney Company
· The beautiful and durable Witex (maple) laminate floor is easy to maintain
· Schlage emergency egress door hardware requires just one movement to simultaneously unlock and open the door leading to the screen porch
· The programmable thermostat, located at 34 inches above the floor, is easy to read and reach from a seated position
· Electric outlets are easy to reach from the beds at 40 inches above the floor
· Long pull chains control the ceiling fan and lights
· Kohler’s barrier free Interlude sink has an offset drain, allowing for clearance directly beneath the sink
· Toilet grab bars are easily removed to allow for side transfers
· Towel racks do double duty as grab bars
· The door on a Safety Bath SoLo tub with hydrotherapy jet system eliminates the need to step over the side to enter or exit
· Sit in the tub, or on the higher fold down seat

· Funding for this 20 ft x 12 ft room was Sara Miller’s 70th birthday gift from her brother, Dave Nusbaum and his family

· Low profile threshold creates an easy transition at the 36-inch wide door
· Sliding windows located at 27 inches above the floor allow for easy bird watching from a seated position, as well as creating an emergency exit option
· Wall hung sink with shroud covering the pipes allows wheelchair footplates to fit under the sink
· During construction 2 x 4 wood blocks or 4 x 8 sheets of 5/8 inch plywood were installed between the studs providing support for future grab bars or other hardware
· The easy to use Tulikivi wood burning soapstone fireplace takes the chill off winter days by radiating heat absorbed from the fire for hours after the fire stops burning
· White closet door pulls may be easier to see than the wood on wood pulls in our 10 x 7 ft front entry foyer
· A drain in the slightly pitched epoxy coated floor converts this half-bath into a spacious roll-in shower
· Walls are Spray-Crete – a waterproof spray on concrete material
· Sit on the toilet or shower chair while using the hand-held shower head. Use the grab bar for support while standing under the rainfall shower head
· Commercial products, like this easy to reach sink with electric eye faucet may be used in residential design
· Our 8 x 24 ft porch features screen stapled to the underside of the floor boards to keep bugs out
· Made possible by donations from Constance Squier, the screen porch is the perfect place to relax, day or night
· The open concept kitchen was made possible by a donation from the R. Douglas and Sharon Ziegler Family
· It offers varied counter heights - 29, 34, 36 and 42 inches
· The 29-inch high island - a comfortable eating space - is also a good height for seated chefs to work at in the 15 x 18 ft kitchen
· Lifelong resident Charlie the dog can be seen taking a break from his nap on the deck to check out what’s happening inside
· Induction cooktop adjacent to a shallow sink is 29 inches above finished floor with unobstructed space beneath
· Open shelving and storage
· Roll-out cart stores under the oven when not being used to safely transfer hot dishes being taken out of the oven
· A second Induction heat cooktop is in 34-inch high counter
· Easy to reach outlets, range hood fan and light switches are mounted above the drawers on face of lower cabinets
· Varied drawer pull styles
· The shower area adjacent to the tub, with its own floor drain, uses the same faucet and hand-held shower head
· Waterproof cedar walls have 2 coats of shellac on both sides
· Brick pattern areas are a sprayable concrete mixed with fine sand to create a slip-free surface
· Exposed sink pipe is wrapped to protect legs while hot water is draining
· Wall hung shelf adjacent to the toilet is on hinges, allowing it to be easily folded down against the wall to provide clear space at the side of the toilet for transfers
· Textured epoxy floor provides safe footing
· Loewen windows provide a panoramic view while utilizing the benefits of light and passive solar heat from a southern exposure
· A semicircle pedestal mounted window sill creates a table top
